SK Desa Pinggiran Putra telah terpilih sebagai penerima Anugerah Program Pendidikan Inklusif (PPI) Pilihan Ibu Bapa Genius Kurnia sempena Majlis Apresiasi Sekolah 2019 anjuran GENIUS Kurnia Bahagian GENIUS Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia pada 21 September 2019 yang lalu di Dewan Anugerah, Pusat Kecemerlangan Intervensi Awal Genius Kurnia, Bahagian Genius, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. Anugerah telah disampaikan oleh Tan Sri Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Noordin, Pengerusi Majlis Penasihat Pendidikan Kebangsaan (MPPK).
Majlis ini diadakan untuk menghargai usaha sekolah dalam memahami dan menerima murid-murid autisme lepasan GENIUS Kurnia yang telah ke sekolah.
